What "Deep Cleaning" Actually Means

Most of what's making your carpet look tired isn't on the surface. It's dry soil — grit, skin cells, pet dander, and Seattle mud — packed down at the base of the fibers. A vacuum gets some of it. A rental machine gets a little more, soaks the pad, and adds soap it can't remove. Our low-moisture encapsulation method works differently: we pre-treat, agitate a crystallizing cleaning agent deep into the pile, and let it surround the soil. As it dries, it locks the dirt into microscopic crystals that release from the fiber and are extracted away — no soaked padding, no soapy residue left behind to attract new dirt.

Why Low-Moisture Beats the Soak in a Rainy Climate

Traditional steam cleaning floods the carpet with dozens of gallons of water, then tries to vacuum it back out — and in Seattle's damp air, what stays behind can take a day or two to dry, inviting mildew and that musty wet-carpet smell. Low-moisture cleaning uses a small fraction of the water, which means faster dry times, no mold risk, gentler treatment for wool and older carpet, and a far lighter footprint on the Puget Sound watershed.

How often should carpet be professionally cleaned?

Every 12–18 months for most homes; every 6–12 with kids, pets, or allergy concerns. If your carpet is under warranty, check its terms — some manufacturers specify a cleaning method, and we're happy to advise on what your warranty requires.

Will you move my furniture?

We move light furniture (sofas, chairs, tables) as part of the job and work around beds, dressers, and electronics. Tell us what you want moved when you book and we'll plan for it.

Is low-moisture cleaning as deep as steam cleaning?

Yes — for the dry soil that makes carpet look dirty, encapsulation with proper agitation cleans to the base of the pile. The difference is what's left behind: steam cleaning leaves moisture and often soap residue; low-moisture leaves your carpet dry in 1–2 hours with no residue to attract new dirt.

Do you use safe products around kids and pets?

Yes. Our standard solutions are non-toxic and low-VOC, and because we use so little water, there's no damp carpet for crawling babies or paw-licking dogs to find.
